Sungha Jung enchants Singapore with his incredible skills

Korean guitar prodigy Sungha Jung was recently in Singapore for his first ever showcase. The showcase lasted a mere one-and-a-half hours, but it was definitely filled with pure acoustic finger-style goodness!
15-year-old Sungha who is a huge youtube sensation, garnering a total of 370 million youtubes view up to date, released his first acoustic guitar album back in 2010 titled ‘Perfect Blue’ produced by renowned German musicians: fingerstylist Ulli Boegershausen and composer Thomas Kessler. And with the release of his second album “Irony in September this year, Jung has already toured the United States with Trace Bundy and performed in Scandinavia and Japan.

Singapore fans of Sungha Jung finally got a chance to witness the boy himself perform right in front of their eyes! His concert tickets sold out just within a few days, proving his popularity in Singapore.

During the Showcase, Sungha performed a total of 13 songs on his guitar and ukelele. Sungha opened up the show with his self-composed title song “Irony” from his first album.

Sungha continued on to mesmerize the audience with his upbeat and rhythmic rendition of Everybody rules the world, Pirates of the Caribbean, Billie Jean, Etude of the sun, My favourite things , Minute by Bach, Farewellanother of Jung’s self composition, Super Mario theme song, I’m Yours, Lonely, Flight Train and ending off with his encore piece, Rainy evening.

A no frills concert and simple stage setting, yet Sungha was able to capture the attention of all that was present in the auditorium, now that is where his charm lies!

After the showcase, Sungha had a meet-and-greet session, and gladly signed merchandises and guitars for his fans.
