Still the Best next year? -2NE1Apparently, 2NE1, definitely not Ugly but beautiful and charismatic girl group, will still be singing I am the Best in the upcoming year. The group already made their entrance to the Billboard’s World Album chart in 2010, with their album “To Anyone” ranking 7th. Not satisfied with 7th, the group jump three more steps higher in the same chart as their second mini album placed 4th last August this year. To add more, bagging Best New Band in the World at the MTV IGGY Awards, a successful live performance at Times Square, New York and working together with the world-renowned musician and producer will.i.am, tells us that 2NE1 will not let you Go Away as they will continue to give you a flaming Fire for 2012!
Under 21 Power Idol- Hyuna Last September, Girl group 4Minute member Hyuna ranked 17th in the Billboard’s Under 21: Music’s Hottest Minors 2011 chart. Another accolade she received for the year is her singleBubble Pop placing 9th in SPIN’s 20 Best Songs of 2011. She was ranked among internationally acclaimed singers like Adele, Beyonce and Britney Spears making her one of the names we can expect to make a scene in the upcoming year.
Worldwide Web Star- Guitarist Sungha JungAside from K-Pop stars, Billboard also recognizes the potential of many emerging artists around the world. Korean guitar prodigy, Sungha Jung, has been part of Billboard’s Uncharted Territory chart for almost 44 weeks now. He even reached up to the 5th spot toppling other rising artists. According to Billboard.com, Uncharted Territory ranks artists by Heat Score–a formula incorporating that week’s streamed plays, page views and fans according to MySpace Music as well as sources tracked by online aggregator Next Big Sound, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and others. Sungha Jung’s YouTube channel alone reaches several hundred thousand to million views worldwide not to mention his other SNSs accounts.
