Over half the audience for Park Gyuri (KARA)’s musical are male

KARA’s Park Gyuri is increasing the percentage of male audiences for her musical, which is quite unusual for musical performances.

Park is currently performing in musical 200 Pounds Beauty at Chungmu Art Hall, which started on December 6. She has performed total six times so far.

According to Show Note, a production company of this musical, Park has been attracting a lot of male audiences, which have been relatively a small portion of the total number of audiences for musical performances until now.

It was indeed reported that the percentage of male audiences for the musical is over 50%.

Considering the fact that the percentages of male audiences for other musicals are only 25 to 40%, this is an unusual number according to the production company.

A spokesperson for the musical says, “Park Gyuri’s performance particularly has higher percentage of male audiences in their teens and 20s. Including KARA’s fans, many male audiences are coming to see the musical to see Park Gyuri.”
