IU gives up the audition of SM Entertainment, lacking confidence in her look

IU recently revealed the episodes about her auditions before she became a singer.

On the episode of KBS 2’s Seung Seung Jang Gu that aired on December 13, IU revealed her painful past about having been eliminated in auditions as many as twenty times. IU says, “I have been eliminated in an audition of JYP Entertainment, one of the major three entertainment agencies.”

Park Jin Young, representative of JYP Entertainment, once said “I will find out one who eliminated IU in the audition and take action for his or her professional negligence. IU also explains why she did not enter the auditions of SM Entertainment. “I thought my appearance was not good enough for SM Ent. And YG rarely held auditions at that time.”

However, “while being eliminated in auditions and swindled”, this bright singer gushes, “I thought everything was O.K. because I would be a singer in the end. And the auditions itself was really exciting to me.”
