Psy's 'Happening' Concert Ignites Fierce Competition Among Media Outlets

The world's eyes and ears are all directed at Seoul as preparations are finalized for Psy's 'Happening' concert this weekend, and media outlets have had to battle one another for permission to cover the monumental event.
There was reportedly some miscommunication about the rules regarding press passes for the upcoming concert which means many international news sources are without the proper credentials to cover the event from the inside. The cut-off for media applications was April 9 according to YG Entertainment, Psy's record label. One hundred applications were processed allowing for 200 reporters, domestic and foreign, to attend the show.
There were also some disputes regarding the live broadcast for 'Happening.' YouTube and Naver (a popular Korean search engine similar to that of Yahoo) have exclusive rights to stream the concert live through their websites and cable channel Mnet will show the performance on TV in South Korea. However, the network MBC contests the arrangement saying they were initially told they would also be allowed to broadcast the concert. Same goes for online streaming site, USTREAM which also argues the right to show the performance through their website. Both were allegedly informed via email contact with YG Entertainment that they would be able to, but the label claims this is false.
Regardless of who covers the highly anticipated concert on Saturday, it is certain there will not be a lack of articles, images, videos, and the like with between the 100 news sources who will attend, the two live online streams, and the television broadcast.
If you would like to tune in to Psy's 'Happening' concert on Saturday, April 13 you can stream it live from the rapper's official YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/officialpsy). The show is slated to begin at 6:30pm KST.
