tvN visits '2NE1 Forest' in South Sudan, Africa

Earlier this year, 2NE1 fans had donated a forest of mango trees to a village in South Sudan, Africa and tvN went to go see how it was doing.

Blackjacks from all around the world donated 1,210 mango trees to the village of Tonj through Tree Planet Korea's 'Star Forest Project'. The mango tree doesn't provide just food - it also provides cool shade for everyone in the heat of the African summer. The villagers were so thankful for 2NE1 and their fans that they were all holding up signs that read 'Thank you 2NE1'.

tvN also went to see the Shinhwa forest, as Shinhwa are currently the first and only group to have 2 forests dedicated to them! Both Shinhwa forests are huge, and of course the forest isn't just a place for people to rest - it's another place for wildlife to call home.

It's hard to figure out how the teaser photos are related to the title track or their album in any way as they've all differed in concepts.
As previously reported, MBLAQ's 5th album is titled 'SEXY BEAT' and contains songs that the members themselves contributed to as well as production by some industry heavyweights.
So stay tuned for more MBLAQ coming your way as you check out the handsome yet slightly eery photos below!

'Of Course That Is Not Me' Says Psy About Look Alike

The Psy look-alike confused many media reporters and fans alike last week when the similar figured Asian male, dressed in what Psy would have chosen to wear for an international event like the Cannes Film Festival, appeared on the red carpet unannounced. We have since learned that Psy was just as confused and that the self-proclaimed Psy is actually a Korean-born Frenchman Denis Carre.
Well, it turns out someone was still a bit confused about the two. Psy's U.S. manager Scooter Braun.
On May 28, Scooter Braun asked via Twitter whether the man in a photo he attached is Psy himself or someone else. The man in the said photo was Denis Carre.
Psy responded, "Of course not!"
During an interview with a Korean media reporter, Denis Carre told, "I heard a lot of people saying that I look like Psy last year, especially at clubs. That is what got me to put on this Psy costume. We are very similar and he changed my life."

It's been a year since Lee Hi joined YG Entertainment, and the rookie singer dished on what her YG Family is really like in an interview with TV Report.
(Parts omitted)
Of course, she couldn't leave out Big Bang and revealed, "CL and G-Dragon sunbaenims are normally cool in real life. G-Dragon, especially, has a cool lifestyle. He always dresses well, so he seems perfect. Big Bang's Seungri sunbaenim is really friendly. If I seem nervous, he recognizes that and makes me feel comfortable. He has a lot of kind charms."
(parts omitted)
"I think that I'm able to promote with a lot of help thanks to my YG Family sunbaenims. I gain a lot of strength through featuring opportunities and just by the fact that they're supporting me together. I will work hard to become the 'maknae' Lee Hi who will be a small help to my sunbaenims."

SM Entertainment is Set to Debut New Male Artist

SM Entertainment has just released two teaser photos, announcing that the agency will be debuting a new male artist. The photos do not show the face of the new artist, raising the curiousity of viewers. No other information has been released as of yet but netizens who have come upon these photos are  guessing that it may be Jino, who debuted with SM  Entertainment’s project group, SM the Ballad.
Also drawing attention is the fact that the new artist is solo and not part of a group. SM Entertainment’s last solo debut was J-Min, who sang “Stand Up” as part of the “To the Beautiful You” OST. It is also the first male solo debut since Kangta, who was originally part of the first generation idol group H.O.T. and released a solo album thirteen years ago.
What about you, Soompiers? Who do you think it might be? Are you excited for the new SM artist?

Lee Hi dishes on what it's like to be a part of the YG Family

It's been a year since Lee Hi joined YG Entertainment, and the rookie singer dished on what her YG Family is really like in an interview with TV Report.

Lee Hi shared, "First off, because I am the youngest in my agency, they call me, 'maknae'. CEO Yang Hyun Suk started calling me that, and before I knew it, others started calling me by that nickname too. Every time I hear it, I feel good. It's to the point that I hope I can continue to be the maknae. They are concerned that I might not adjust well, so they support me a lot."

Lee Hi had nothing but good things to say about her father-like role model, Yang Hyun Suk, sharing, "He is always doing things for me like a father would. It's amazing how he consistently finds new concepts that suit me. I never fail to get surprised each time he does that. Even when it comes to things that seem impossible, if CEO Yang takes it on, it becomes possible. He leads me in the right path to fulfill my dream."

The rookie singer also opened up about her duet with 'The Baddest Female',CL. "I was very joyful when I got to perform a collaboration stage with CL sunbaenim. I always thought that CL sunbaenim was really cool, so it was amazing for me to be able to perform on one stage with her. CEO Yang Hyun Suk readily accepted the request, and it happened. It feels surreal knowing that my sunbaes are helping the 'maknae'."

"I also knew that [Gummy] sunbaenim overflowed with charisma, but she took care of me well like a big unni would. She took care of me like she would for a baby, so I was always surprised when I would meet up with her."

Of course, she couldn't leave out Big Bang and revealed, "CL and G-Dragonsunbaenims are normally cool in real life. G-Dragon, especially, has a cool lifestyle. He always dresses well, so he seems perfect. Big Bang's Seungrisunbaenim is really friendly. If I seem nervous, he recognizes that and makes me feel comfortable. He has a lot of kind charms."

Lee Hi also shared her gratitude to Psy, commenting, "I am really thankful toPsy sunbaenim. When would a young, rookie singer like me ever have the chance to perform in front of 50,000 people at a concert? Giving me that opportunity must've not been an easy thing to do. I think it's because he supports me that it became possible. Even when I look back on it, it was a really special moment. He knew that I was really nervous, so he purposefully gave me a big round of applause. The moment I stood on stage, I was really proud of Psy sunbaenim."
