At the press conference for OBS & ARIRANG TV’s joint production, WAVE K-POP, OBS and ARIRANG TV announced their new project that k-pop stars and their foreign fans meet each other directly by using the internet videophones, Skype, while they’re on the air.
This is the first in the Korean broadcasting history. Foreign fans can watch the stars and their performance and have real-time conversations with the stars by using Skype. This is drawing lots of attention.
Girl group DAVICHI who met their Japanese fans by using Skype said, “It was a very exciting moment that we had fans in Japan even though we had never performed there.”
The production team of ‘WAVE K-POP have announced that we and Dae Sung Holdings which is the partner with Skype, the world’s biggest internet-voice videophone producing company, would sign the MOU. And we will expand our business to other Asian countries such as Japan, China, Thailand, the Philippines, and more. ” They added, ” We will also extend our work step by step to Europe, America, Oceania, Middle East, and South America where K-pops are becoming popular.
OBS’s co-producer, Kong Tae Hee said, ” The Korea Tourist Service,Inc and Korea Culture Center in foreign countries will have forces to help our project. We will also cooperate with the press in the foreign countries to make it possible for the fans to connect with K-Pop stars and to watch their performances and their concerts in many tourist attractions.
‘WAVE K-POP’ is a concert typed music program where selected k-pop star idols and Korean best vocalists compete with each other. Brian and Eru will emcee the show.
Brian and Eru said, “We will show the viewers our funny characters with our musicality to make the show different from other music programs. We also feel like we are representing K-pop to the world, so we will do our best.
