Iconic K-pop star G-Dragon has won a sweeping victory over two other U.S. pop stars and grabbed Best New Artist of 2013 by U.S. TV channel Fuse.
The idol-turned-artist grabbed the title with overwhelming approval rating of 76%, beating out U.S. female singers K. Michelle and Danielle Bradbery, at the final third round poll ended Tuesday midnight EST, GD’s agency YG Entertainment announced on Wednesday.
The poll started a month ago with 72 artists in 12 genres including pop, R&B, indie rock and international pop, where GD and his laeblemate CL of 2NE1 shortlisted for.
12 artists including GD won the most votes in his or her respective category and moved onto the second round to compete in broader divisions.
The three artists, GD, K. Michelle and Bradbery went up to the third round of votes, and now Fuse will do an exclusive feature on the final winner GD, now The Fuse Favorite.
G-Dragon, who rolled out his second full effort three weeks ago, is mastermind of highly-successful boy group Big Bang and also one of the representative figures of K-pop with his unique style and talented songwriting skills.
