Psy Harvard Lecture 'My Face Says No English?'

Psy revealed a comical misperception of him made based on stereotypical Asian facial features. During his lecture at Harvard University on May 9, Psy explained that "No one knew that I could speak English during twelve years of performance in Korea."
The lecture took place at Memorial Church on campus grounds at Harvard University.
Psy shared some of the reasons why people never imagined him to be an English speaker. The funniest of them all was, as the audience made it loud and clear, was "Your face says no English. You don't look like someone who could speak English."
Psy also talked about how he first got to take "Gangnam Style" beyond the borders of Korea. He recalled the time when Scooter Braun, his current manager who also manages Justin Bieber, called him on the phone and said "This is Scooter." Psy responded, "Scooter? That is your hobby? Name?" thinking that the guy had the wrong number.
"I never expected or even dreamed of becoming an international artist. I was completely happy back in my home country," Psy said about his sudden rise to global stardom.
Originally scheduled inside an auditorium that seats 200 people, Psy's lecture was moved to Memorial Church after over 1,400 individuals signed up to attend the lecture. Al Gore, Dalai Lama, Seth McFarlene have previously given lectures at Memorial Church.
