YG ANNOUNCES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST INVASION OF G-DRAGON’S PRIVACY
YG Entertainment has announced that the agency will not be taking the invasion of G-Dragon’s privacy lightly. Over the weekend, September 17, G-Dragon’s private Instagram was hacked, revealing G-Dragon’s personal photos to the public.
September 21, YG announced their plans to take legal action. “Hacking a private social networking site and sharing the photos is a crime. As a result, photos that were only available to 150 close acquaintances were widely spread online.”
In addition to the hacking, photos were modified and redistributed, YG said, which are two additional crimes against G-Dragon, including defamation.
YG said, “We will be filing complaints against not only the hacker, but those who spread malicious rumors. These are measures to prevent additional invasions of artists’ privacy, which crossed the line and broke the law. YG has already asked media to refrain from using G-Dragon’s leaked photos.”

YG THREATENS LEGAL ACTION AFTER G-DRAGON’S PRIVATE INSTAGRAM IS HACKED
YG Entertainment will take legal action against the hacker who leaked private photos of singer-rapper G-Dragon to the public, the agency said Wednesday.
“G-Dragon’s private account was hacked and he became the target of privacy infringement,” the agency said in a statement. “We will take this issue to investigators to find those responsible for the hack and anyone who spreads malicious rumors about the incident.”
The leader of popular boy group BigBang had previously opened a private Instagram account with 150 friends to share photos of his private life. The hacker changed the account status to public from private, which the singer had originally set, allowing the public to see his personal photos. Among the widely circulated pictures include some of G-Dragon and Japanese actress Nana Komatsu, in which the two appear to be a couple, leading to dating rumors.
“Some of the leaked photos were edited by a third person, which have been spread online as if they were real, causing yet more damage (to the singer and the actress),” the agency said.
“We will act sternly against any behavior that infringes upon the artist’s privacy and damages his image and reputation by spreading groundless rumors on online forums and social media services.”

YG, “WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST HACKING INTO G-DRAGON’S SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT AND CIRCULATION OF GROUNDLESS RUMORS”
YG Entertainment (“YG”) is taking firm actions against infringement on G-Dragon’s privacy.
On September 21, YG announced, “We are taking firm legal actions against the crime of recent infringement on G-Dragon’s privacy, including hacking into his personal social media network”.
YG explained, “G-Dragon’s social media account which was recently hacked is an undisclosed one for G-Dragon’s personal use to share his private life with only a few of his closest friends. Hacking into a private person’s closed personal social media account is an obvious act of crime. The hacker turned G-Dragon’s personal social media account from “closed” to “open”, to unveil every detail of G-Dragon’s privacy against his will. Because of such illegal act, undisclosed photos that G-Dragon has shared only with 150 friends of his came to be circulated on different social media platforms, among unspecified masses”.
“The photos illegally circulated were then transformed and composed by others, to spread on other social media platforms and on-line communities, triggering spread of groundless rumors about G-Dragon. All those actions have caused the second and third damages to G-Dragon’s reputation”, emphasized YG.
From now on, YG will take head-on legal actions against acts of infringing on the privacy of its artists and damaging their images and reputation by spreading groundless rumors on social media platforms and Internet communities.
“YG is filing lawsuits and reporting to the police about the person who hacked into G-DRAGON’s social media account as well as against acts of spreading groundless rumors about our artists. We are doing this in order to prevent recurrence of any illegal behaviors that encroach on our artists’ privacy. YG has also asked all media outlets to refrain from using the undisclosed photos of G-Dragon leaked out by the illegal hacking”, added YG.
