Miryo of Brown Eyed Girls releases her first solo album on Feb. 1

Miryo of Brown Eyed Girls released her first solo album, MIRYO aka JOHONEY, on February 1.
After the first teaser of her album, starring SNSD’s Sunny, and the second teaser, which looks like a horror film, were released on January 27 and 30 respectively, the third teaser in a ballad version was released on January 31. She composed and gave lyrics to all of her songs and even participated in producing the album.
Most of her songs are pop or rock genres; however, she also tried other various genres such as electronics and DubStep.
The title song “Dirty” is co-composed by Double Side Kick and Ichiro Suezawa, who have recently received attention as prolific composers. Its interesting lyrics about a girl who mischievously takes revenge on her boyfriend after getting dumped by him is fascinating.
Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls and Garie, who used to be in the same hip-hop group called Honey Family with Miryo, showed their friendship with her by being featured in her album.
People responded: “I thought the genre of the album was hip-hop but it wasn’t. It was unexpected,” “I didn’t know that Miryo was also good at singing,” “It’s great the she produced the album.”
The full version of the music video of “Dirty,” which has attracted a lot of attention with its horror teaser, stars Miryo. Despite the fact that it was her first time to act, she seems very natural. It also stars Lee Malgeum, who debuted as an actress through MBC TV’s High Kick! The Revenge of the Short Legged, and Dan Woo.
Miryo will perform for the first time as a solo singer on Mnet’s M Countdown on February 2.
