PSY on an Italian TV program

PSY was mentioned in a famous Italian TV program : Lorem Ipsum. This program is broadcasted by DeeJay TV channel, and is a collection of videos, found on Youtube, put together to create a story. Every episode has a different and specific topic, the one in which PSY appeared is  ”Tormentoni” (hit songs).

The episode shows videos about international hit songs worldwide, focusing especially on Italy.

Starting from the 80s with the song “Gioca Jouer”, which made millions of people dancing on it, till recent hit songs: in 2012 the Italians could sing and dance on the notes of “Pulcino Pio”, then the world could enjoy listening to the song “Call Me Maybe” and creating funny videos of Obama and Star Wars characters singing it and finally, everyone met PSY on Youtube, live, on friends’ ipod. It was a completely success. The program introduces Gangnam Style, confirming his incredible attraction, getting more than one billion views just on Youtube. It shows also how some American kids react to him and to K-Pop till the reaction of celebrities such as Nelly Furtado and Kylie Minogue, who danced and sung alone the song and Madonna or Britney Spears who had the honor to dance with PSY.

The commentator in the end of the videos dedicated to PSY says also “K-Pop will conquer the world“, adding also a clarification saying that in Italy it is not so famous because Italians don’t like changes so much and the majority of the people in the country are more attracted by the usual Latin or Spanish hit songs. Of course this comment doesn’t mean that in Italy there are no K-Pop fans, on the contrary they keep on fighting to bring K-Pop and K-artist in their country.
