Psy And South Korean President Park Geun-Hyu Visit Los Angeles, Promoting Cultural Ties

Psy may be an international pop icon, but he is not the only South Korean ambassador globetrotting these days.
Los Angeles welcomed South Korean president Park Geun-Hyu on May 9, coming off the heels of Psy's impressionable cameo at the Dodger Stadium nine days earlier.
With his latest worldwide smash hit "Gentleman," the South Korean rapper is no stranger to the City of Angels, even going so far as to buy a condo in L.A.'s exclusive Blair House.
Since then, Psy has also been named a tourism ambassador for South Korea.

According to CNN, the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) hopes to "introduce the more modern and fun Korean cultural concepts" to boost tourism.
"We have been looking for ways to tap into new media like social marketing and YouTube, and since Psy has become a world star that way it made sense," said Kang Jong-soon, representative of KTO.
With the new position, Psy also became an honorary brand ambassador for Asiana Airlines, further helping his frequent travels to cities like Los Angeles.
For Park Geun-Hyu, her first visit to L.A. shares similar tracks to Psy's role as a cultural ambassador.
According to the Huffington Post, Park visited L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa celebrating their "deeply intertwined" histories and cultures.
"The bonds between your country and my city are deep and rich," said the mayor. "We are linked by more than just trade and tourism."
During the welcoming luncheon behind the mayor's official residence, Getty House, the pair spoke of strengthening an "ever more successful alliance."
Park Geun-Hyu's visit to L.A. came after stopping in Washington to meet with President Barack Obama.
Yet another feat she shares with Psy, according to Politico, since he performed "Gangnam Style" at a White House Correspondents' Dinner last year.
