MAIN ACTOR CHOI SEUNG-HYUN FOR “OUT OF CONTROL” IS BEST KNOWN AS RAPPER IN ASIA

he article below was originally in German and meant to inform/teach readers about who T.O.P is, as many people in Germany had first been introduced to him/learned about him through the filming of “Out of Control”.

Filming the action movie “Out of control” has been special for Choi Seung-Hyun. He normally stands on stage as Rapper T.O.P of the band BIG BANG.

The South Korean Choi Seung-Hyun is one of the main actors when the action movie “Out of Control” will be in the Chinese cinemas in December. Filming – for example on the motorway A30 between Löhne and Bad Oeynhausen – was a special experience for the 28-year old. He usually stands on stage as Rapper TOP of the band BIGBANG.

Filming the German-Chinese action movie “Out of Control”, produced by action company Action Concept in Hürth, brought Choi Seung-Hyun to the region for a few days in April. He stood in front of the camera for several stunts with stretch limousines and helicopters in his role as Interpol Agent Tom Young. Other than when the bridge explosion scene at Löhne’s Bridge in February, two months prior, no press was allowed on the set.

Part of the crew was Sven Johanning, as one of the government staff responsible for clearing this part of the motorway for special filming. “I have also experienced the asian Actors. This is a different world”, says Sven Johanning in a conversation in June. Choi Seung-Hyun and his colleague Cecilia Cheung were brought to the set in limousines/Mercedes cars. Both also had a large team of assistants constantly around them. Pictures were not allowed.

CHOI SEUNG-HYUN IS USED TO LARGE ATTENTION

At least Choi Seung-Hyun is used to attention to his person. As part of the band BIG BANG is he listed in Forbes Magazine at Number 54 out of 100 of the most successful famous people in the world. According to this earned the band that is especially popular in Asia 44 Million Dollars last year (approx 39.7 Million Euros).

For many BIG BANG fans the world came down when they learned through an interview that Unit Production Manager Tobias Knubel gave, that all actors are using their mother-tongue  while  filming – in the case of Choi Seung-Hyun, Korean –  but that later the movie will be dubbed into Chinese. “Now we will not be able to hear his unique voice”, many fans commented as reaction on the internet.

It is too early for synchronisation three months after filming finished. “At the moment we are working on the final raw cut”, says Elke Schubert from the company Ation Concept on Tuesday to the newspaper. Afterwards there are many more steps as part of post production until the movie is finished and according to the original plan will be shown in Chinese cinemas in December. If and if so when the movie will be shown in Germany remains open.

PRESENTING THE TRAILER RAISED HIGH EXPECTATIONS

High expectations have been raised when the first trailer of the action movie were presented at the Shanghai International Film Festival in the beginning of June. Especially Choi Seung-Hyun in his role as Agent Tom Young has received much support by the many fans.

The interest on the 28-year old multi-talent  is also raising in Europe. So far mainly due in connection of his career as a member of BIGBANG. The Korean pop formation have won the Italian MTV Awards 2016 in the category of “Best Artist of the World” next to names like Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber. Not enough of that Choi Seung-Hyun is also busy with other things like in October when he is guest curating an auction for contemporary art at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong.
