Actor Lee Joon Gi recently showed off his power as an original Hallyu star.
Lee recorded his Japanese fan meeting and released it as a DVD called Coming Back. On July 7, the DVD ranked first in two categories of the Oricon chart: DVD General and Music DVD.
The fan meeting was held in Nagoya, Yokohama, and Osaka in March to celebrate Lee completing his army service and to meet over 18,000 fans.
The DVD is expected to draw a lot of attention because it includes videos of his performance, rehearsal, and behind the scenes footage.
Even though Lee is very popular and getting various offers in Japan, he postponed every Japanese schedule he had to shoot MBC’s series Arang and the Magistrate, which will start airing in July.
A spokesperson for Lee’s agency says, “After he completed his army service, he is getting lots of offers and receiving considerable attention. He is currently focusing on the series, which will start airing this month.”
In the series, Lee plays the role of a magistrate named Eun Oh and actress Shin Min Ah plays the role of a ghost named Arang.
