Recently, Super Junior’s Leeteuk inspired laughter by mentioning the Great King Gwanggaeto.
On March 31 at 5:00 p.m., Leeteuk hosted a showcase of rookie groups EXO-K and EXO-M which was held at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park located in Bangi-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
As he appeared on stage, he introduced himself, “Hello everyone. I’m Leeteuk of Super Junior, the Great King Gwanggaeto of Hallyu.” His witty greeting heated up the atmosphere. With a great sense of humor throughout the event, the star gave his best in easing the tension for the rookie groups.
After the performance of “History,” Leeteuk asked EXO members to introduce themselves. The group became so nervous that they forgot to turn on the microphone and audience could barely hear them. On seeing this, Leeteuk joked, “I see that you’re very nervous on your first performance, but when you are saying hello to the audience, you’re supposed to talk on a functioning microphone.”
EXO released its first prologue single “What Is Love” on January 30, followed by the second “History” on March 9. The group’s first official mini-album Mama will hit the shelves on April 9.
EXO is the latest group introduced by SM Entertainment, and its motif is exoplanet which basically means an outer planet of our solar system, referring to a new star emerging from an unknown world.
By adding K (stands for Korea) and M (stands for Madarin) at the end of EXO, the group is divided into two groups of EXO-K and EXO-M. The groups debuted on the same day with the same song but in two different languages, showing their ambition to fascinate the world in Korean and Chinese.
EXO-K which is composed of Su Ho, Kai, Chan Yeol, Se Hun, and Baek Hyun and EXO-M composed of Kris, Lu Han, Tao, Lay, Xiu Min, and Chen released the first single “What Is Love” on January 30, and the second single “History” was revealed on March 9. Their first mini-album Mama is now waiting to be released on April 9.
After the showcase in Korea, another one will be held in Beijing, at the Grand Theater of the University of International Business and Economics on April 1.
