Jung Il Woo visits Goguryeo village in Japan

Recently, actor Jung Il Woo has spent meaningful time at the celebration of the 1,300th anniversary since the foundation of Goguryeo.
Jung’s agency, Fantagio, said on April 11, “On April 9, he rode on a wildcat train heading for Gomahyang in Japan to participate in a special event which was held at Saitama Goguryeo village.”
According to the agency, the village has a 1,300 year-long history, and Jung tried to console the sorrow and hard life that Goguryeo ancestors went through. Also, he contributed in Korea-Japan relationship by meeting some local residents and Japanese fans who have shown constant love for Korean historical drama and participating in a charity.
He added more meaning to the event as he delivered donations for the construction of the statue of the Great King Gwanggaeto and meditates upon the history and culture of Goguryeo. For each event, local reporters and about 1,000 fans gathered.
Jung said, “It was very meaningful to me because I had a time to communicate with Japanese fans at this very place where spirit of Goguryeo is still alive. It was a unique experience and will remain as a good memory to me.”
The agency concluded, “Only 300 people could get on the wildcat train with Jung, and the seat became full in just five minutes. Obviously, the event grabbed a lot of attention in Japan.”
