allkpop TV Guide and Ratings (01/08-01/15)

Welcome to another edition of ‘allkpop TV guide and Ratings‘, an exclusive feature that spotlights popular Korean dramas. It will discuss ratings for each week’s episodes, as well as provide brief recaps (with spoilers, so watch out!) of shows that we know allkpop readers are enjoying.
We’ve got the two regular shows being recapped for this week — ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘ (starring Kim Soo HyunHan Ga InJung Il Woo) and ‘Wild Romance‘ (starring Lee Si YoungLee Dong WookSNSD‘s Jessica).

The power of KBS‘s medical drama, ‘Brain‘, on the Monday-Tuesday ratings was proven by its first place ranking with 16.2%. Its competitor, MBC‘s ‘Light and Shadow‘, is still hot on its tail however, as it too enjoyed an increased viewer rating with 14.7% overall.
Meanwhile, SBS‘s ‘History of a Salaryman‘ is still finding its place as it only began broadcasting last week. The drama managed to rake in 10%, an acceptable figure considering how its facing off against two other dramas that are already well-established. Let’s see how it does once its plot starts to pick up in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, MBC’s ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘ is seeing high success as it pulled an even higher rating of 23.4% on Thursday.
SBS’s ‘Take Care of Us, Captain‘ is still trying to reach beyond the 10% milestone; unfortunately, it was just 0.2% shy of its marks as it garnered a 9.8%. As for KBS’s ‘Wild Romance‘, the drama is floundering with its low rating of 6.2%. Hopefully its story can escape the eclipse effect of ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun’!

Unfortunately, his plans face one small obstacle: the Crown Prince, Lee Hwon, is starting to fall in love with Yeon Woo. Now he’s planning to place her on the candidate list for the Crown Princess, which puts her in direct competition with Bo Kyung (and Yoon Dae Hyung).
