Big Bang leader G-Dragon’s song “Crooked” from his second solo album “Coup D’etat” has been picked MTV IGGY’s Song of the Year.
The 26-year-old artist took first place in a global online poll which took place for a week starting December 13 last year, through which he gained 47.7 percent of the votes.
Following in close behind was Trinidadian ragga soca artist Bunji Garlin’s song “Differentology” with 47.68 percent of the votes.
There were a total of 13 candidates including Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” Drake’s “Started from the Bottom,” Lorde’s “Royals,” and PSY’s “Gentleman.”
On the poll, MTV IGGY had explained “Crooked” as being “the endlessly replayable sound of him breaking big.”
“Crooked” was one of four title tracks to “Coup D’etat” released in September of last year. G-Dragon wrapped up his promotional activities for the album in early November.
In the meantime, Big Bang is set to meet with local fans from January 24 to 26 through their “2014 BIGBANG +α IN SEOUL” concert.
