Ratings Trouble for The Sun and the Moon

In just eight episodes, the MBC drama The Sun and the Moon are getting more than 32% of viewers. But the question is whether it will rise above 40% to avoid a strike with the network.
With dramas not able to rise above 20% in ratings, its rare seeing a show getting renewed for next season. There still seems to be hope for The Sun and the Moon after hitting 31.2% after its eight episodes aired. It's possible for the viewership to go up as soon as the season ends.
The last show that made it above 40% was MBC's Queen Sundeok when it gained 43.3% back in 2009. Other dramas that achieved this goal were My Name is Kim Sam Soon, Dae Jang Geum, and Jumong.Even the KBS and SBS networks faced trouble with the ratings of their shows Love, Bread, and Dreamas well as Stairways to Heaven back in 2010 and 2004 respectively.
The MBC Labor Union said that they would go on strike due to the resignation of CEO Jae-cheol but only if the ratings were declining.
The taping for new episodes of The Sun and the Moon has not taken place yet, but if the strike does happen then the show may be faced with no airtime.
