After nearly three years away, the K-pop phenoms return with two fantastic new singles and music videos, making it the perfect time to become a fan.
1. Their new single “Loser” is excellent.
BIG BANG has returned, and this new track blends bad-boy hip hop with emotional boy-band melodies that only this talented quintet knows how to pull off. The guys detail feeling like a “loser, loner, a coward” after forgetting the importance of love and finding unhappiness with one-night stands. It’s reminiscent of BIG BANG’s 2012 single “Bad Boy,” a cut off Alive, the first Korean album to ever chart on the Billboard 200.

2. “Loser” is slaying iTunes.
At press time, “Loser” is No. 40 on U.S. iTunes Top Songs chart which is the highest position ever for a Korean song, barring PSY’s crossover success singles. Currently, the track’s charting higher than major hits like Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” Sia’s “Elastic Heart” and Nicki Minaj’s “Truffle Butter,” making us wonder if BIG BANG could land themselves on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

3. The “Loser” video is a badass, emotional roller coaster.
Watch above as the guys fashionably wallow through Los Angeles in different states of depression. Leader G-Dragon lays in the middle of an intersection while the band’s sex symbol TOP goes from making out with a bikini-clad hottie to fighting with her a moment later as main vocalist Daesung gets jumped in a parking lot. It’s all somewhat upsetting until you see the guys come together at the end for one powerful group shot.

4. “Loser” is also owning YouTube.
Early reports indicate “Loser” earned more than 4.4 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours. That would break the record for most watches in a day for K-pop acts (again, not including Psy). The previous record was held by another one of our favorite boy bands, EXO and their “Call Me Baby” vid with 4.1 mill. At press time, “Loser” has more than five million views.

5. Their other new single, “Bae Bae,” is really good too.
BIG BANG made their return to the scene twice as nice with a second single. “Bae Bae” is a trap-infected hip-hop/R&B tune that, at one second, you’re bobbing your head to and the next makes you want to belt your heart out.

6. The “Bae Bae” video is scrumptiously sexual.
K-pop fans know groups keep things relatively tame in their videos, but BIG BANG defies norms in their latest and craziest visual. Check it out above as members Seungri and Daesung get close with their female co-stars, but TOP takes the innuendo cake by his crotch thrusts and at one point squirting a syringe filled with white liquid on a love interest’s face.

7. There’s more music coming…soon.
“Loser” and “Bae Bae” are just the first tastes BIG BANG’s 2015 that includes a ton of music. The guys have announced a plan to release at least two new songs every first day of the month until the September release of their new full-length album Made.

8. There’s a world tour coming.
BIG BANG performed two concerts in Seoul, South Korea last week, kicking off their upcoming world tour. The band has announced dates all over Asia, but has promised they’ll come to America too which will follow up their four-date trek in the U.S. back in 2012. Now is the perfect time to get into BIGBANG before they hit your city later this year.
