TVXQ, Big Bang, Girls′ Generation and other Korean groups made it into the cumulative top 50 chart that the Oricon released for the first half of the year.
According to the chart, TVXQ and Big Bang were the highest-ranking Korean groups, as they both sat at sixth place on the album and DVD charts respectively.
TVXQ′s Tree, released in March, sold 263,080 copies, which was enough to grab the no. 6 spot. The group′s Tense album also ranked in no. 47 with 50,685 copies sold.
On the DVD chart, the group landed on no. 8 with 76,211 copies of its TVXQ Live Tour 2013 ~Time~ Final in Nissan Stadium DVD.
Big Bang showed good showings on the DVD chart as well, sitting on no. 6 with its Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2013-2014 DVD.
Many more groups followed.
2PM′s Genesis of 2PM stood at no. 28 with 72,003 copies on the album chart, while Super Junior Donghae and Eunhyuk′s Ride Me album could be seen at no. 49 with 50,152.
Girls′ Generation′s Love & Peace, released in December 2013, was spotted at no. 14, making the group the highest ranking and only Korean girl group on the album chart.
In the DVD chart, 2PM′s Legend of 2PM in Tokyo Dome DVD (27,176 copies) and Super Junior′s Super Junior World Tour Super Show 5 in Japan DVD (26,460) got the groups ranks 35 and 37.
Korean groups were also spotted on the singles top 50 chart.
TVXQ′s Hide & Seek / Something sold 119,291 copies for a no. 26 rank, and Super Junior landed on no. 36 with 77,026 copies sold for Blue World.
