YG Entertainment’s girl group 2NE1 will appear on CW TV’s “America’s Next Top Model,” reality survival program in the U.S., for its season 21 finale.
According to several media outlets and fashion industry officials on March 26, 2NE1 was reportedly invited to appear on the show’s season finale as guests. Currently, a global supermodel and the host of “America’s Next Top Model” Tyra Banks, along with the show’s participants, are filming in Seoul, Korea.
One of the officials explained, “2NE1 plans to appear as guests on the show’s season finale to watch the final participants to walk on the runway near the Banpo Riverside Park on April 2,” adding, “I heard that 2NE1 was invited to the show because they are not only a leading girl group of K-Pop, but also fashionistas with great sense of fashion.”
“America’s Next Top Model” is a reality survival program in which participants compete with one another until the last winner remains in order to become the next top model. In Korea, the OnStyle channel aquired copyright of the show and aired it under the title, ”Top Model Korea.”
Tyra Banks and the production staff of the show has been traveling around the world to film every season. For the show’s final season to be filmed in Korea, the OnStyle channel submitted an application to a government-funded program, ”Location Incentive,” offered by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) to make it possible.
Participants of “America’s Next Top Model” season 21 are filming five episodes in Seoul over the course of two weeks, experiencing Korean traditions and modern culture by visiting several places, such as Gyeongbok Palace, Gwanghwamun Square, Cheonggyecheon, Seoul City Hall, Gwangjang Market, Sinchon, and Dongdaemun.
