FUSE TV extolled EPIK HIGH as the leaders of “Korean hip hop's international expansion”

America’s music-specializing cable FUSE TV extolled EPIK HIGH as the leaders of “Korean hip hop’s international expansion”.

On Feb 21 (local time), FUSE TV revealed an interview with EPIK HIGH, highlighting their debut and future schedules.

Under the title FUSE LOVES SEOUL: From K-Pop to Hip Hop, FUSE TV has been introducing YG artists one by one from 2NE1, BIGBANG, T.O.P and TAEYANG in 2014. And this time it’s EPIK HIGH.

FUSE TV said, “There is no hip hop act quite like EPIK HIGH. Made up of MCs TABLO and MITHRA JIN alongside DJ TUKUTZ, the trio have been shaking up the K-pop industry for more than a decade. With a unique rap-rock sound, EPIK HIGH came about organically instead of being placed together by a record label, like most K-pop acts.

“We’re not the model K-pop musician,” TABLO tells Fuse News. “We didn’t have a company, we didn’t have a manager. We just got together to make music… the way we did it is very different and rare.”

FUSE TV explained how EPIK HIGH’s beginning wasn’t so dynamic, but their influence has been more than shocking.

“Despite their humble beginnings, EPIK HIGH found chart success, helping them lead Korean hip hop’s international expansion. The trio joined Far East Movement for a joint Stateside tour in 2009 and was the first South Korean act to hit No. 1 on U.S. iTunes’ Hip Hop Albums chart with the 2010 LP Epilogue,” wrote FUSE TV.

EPIK HIGH positioned themselves as artists with very unique identity, and has been loved by the public. They challenge a new genre by combining hip hop and other realms, while conveying meaningful messages through their lyrics.

EPIK HIGH made a debut in the music world in 2003, and soon marks their 11th anniversary. All eyes are on the artists to see what they have ready for us this time.
