LEE HI & 2000 WON WIN VICTORY IN ‘K-POP STAR DREAM STAGE’

Lee Hi and 2000 Won’s collaboration won victory in SBS’s K-Pop Star Dream Stage.

On K-Pop Star Dream Stage, contestants from season 1 and 2 were paired to compete against other pairs on April 14.

The paired groups were: Yoon Hyun-sang and Andrew Choi, Baek Ah-hyun and Shin Ji-hoon, Park Jae-hyung and the Raccoon Boys (Kim Min-suk, McKay Kim, Brian Shin), Lee Seung-hoon and Bang Ye-dam, Lee Hi and 2000 Won (Kim Hyo-bin and Kim Il-do), Park Ji-min and Akdong Musicians (Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Soo-hyun). The coupled teams collaborated to stage magnificent performances.

The competition was evaluated and voted by 100 people including the staff members, contestants, and the MC, and the winner were Lee Hi and 2000 Won, with 92 points.

Yoon Hyun-sang, the singer-song-writer from season 1, and Andrew Choi, a professional composer, were coupled together to be the first performers. The two talented contestants showed off their harmonized voices by singing Yoo Jae-Ha’s ‘Because I Love You.’

Yoon Hyun-sang kicked off the performance by singing and playing the keyboard, and Andrew Choi joined in with his R&B style singing. The two, who melted the hearts of many women, scored 82 points.

The duet was followed by Baek Ah-hyun and Shin Ji-hoon, the two female contestants with pure and mesmerizing voices. The two sang ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserable, and the MC Yoon Do-Hyun was “simply lost in awe.” The two scored 91.

The third performance was by the terrific dancers Lee Seung-hoon and Bang Ye-dam, who staged ‘I Didn’t Go To School’ by Ryang Hyun Ryang Ha. The two dressed in orange to perform the recreated song, showing off their rap and dance skills. They earned 78 points.

Park Jae-hyun and the Raccoon Boys chose Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic.’ Park’s acoustic played in the background of the four amazing voices.

The fifth stage was adorned by Lee Hi and 2000 Won, who performed Rihanna’s ‘Love the Way You Lie.’ Lee Hi’s soulful voice and 2000 Won’s emotional rap and vocal were a perfect mix.

Shin Ji-hoon, who was listening to the three sing, said “I got goose bumps by just listening to their voices.” The three scored 92 points, coming in at number one.

The last song was by the winners of season 1 and 2, Park Ji-min and Akdong Musicians who blended Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and Akdong Musicians-made ‘Don’t Cross Your Legs’ to create a completely new song. They came close to winning, scoring 91.
