5 nights straight of fabulous runway fashion accompanied by a variety of fresh music. Music & Mens Fashion Week 2012 was held in Singapore for the second time running since its success last year. Headed by the charming suave chairman Mr. Frank Cintamani, the 5-day event was a blast for all attendees.
“Who is Lady Gaga without the fashion that she wears?” Food for thought from Mr. Cintamani. Indeed fashion is an essential part of life, a factor that makes or breaks a person. However, only a handful are interested in high fashion, especially in Asian countries.
The Gala Opening Night on 18 April, saw many Korean artistes gracing the red carpet. In attendance were soloist Se7en and actor-model Sung Hoon. Korean trio 8Eight, youtube stars Sungha Jung and Megan Lee performed for the crowd on the opening night.
The powerful vocals of 8Eight serenaded the audience with three songs ‘Don’t Close That Lip’, ’Dilemma’ and ‘White Roses’. Member Lee Hyun was absent as he was in military service.
Youtube phenomena Sungha Jung came on stage shyly, but belted out ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ with passion on his guitar. He was later accompanied by Megan Lee and the duo performed with fun chemistry.
Spencer Hart and Songzio kickstarted the fashion aspect of the night. The Spencer Hart Menswear Collection displayed luxury suits with clean exquisite lines. It is a renowned brand amongst A-list celebrities like David Beckham and Orlando Bloom. Staying true to the minimalist and simple idea, models walked the runway barefooted.
Korean designer Songzio showcased his Fall/Winter collection, which had an element of travel weaved into it. Paying attention to the fine details, interesting mix of textures of leather, wool and suede was the focus. Top Korean model Lee Soo Hyuk fronted the runway show with his defined features and stature of 1.84m. Other well-known names seen parading Songzio’s designs were Kim Han Soo, Lee Tae Hwan, Heo Min Ho as well as Japanese actor Tanihara Shosuke.
