The Seoul International Drama Awards 2011 (hereafter referred to as SDA 2011) successfully created a fantastic festival for fans of drama series both at home and abroad by offering various events including the TV Film Festival. Shall we enjoy the scenes of the festival all together?
1. Pre-events of the SDA 2011 – Korea’s first premium preview <TV Film Festival>
The SDA 2011 TV Film Festival was held to introduce TV films from all parts of the world in one place. The festival took place from August 18 to 19 in Lotte Cinema located in downtown Seoul.

Out of the 77 entries of short drama series, the hand-picked six works were shown to the citizen applicants. The entry includes Lost in Africa and Me & Me Umbrella (Denmark), Chernobyl Four Days in April (Poland), The Frontier and Bella Block (Germany), and Casting Sword (China).

The evaluation written by the viewers after appreciating films was as piercing and cutting as the ones of the judging panel. But they pointed out as one of the regrets that the films were played only in English. With all the questioned and criticized points reflected, you can expect better of the TV Film Festival next year.
2. Special events for the SDA 2011 – Rendezvous between drama series and fans
Special events for the SDA 2011 were held at the Sejong Culture Center from September 1 to 4. This year the atmosphere was highly heated up thanks to the well-prepared events such as Drama Original Sounds Korea, a radio visual show, and exhibition booths to introduce popular drama series from all over the world.

Several singers and indie bands were invited to show performances with popular drama theme songs. Despite the sizzling weather, the audience received them with huge cheers, enjoying the performances.

The exhibition booths offered the chance for visitors to experience different culture. In particular, the booth of Australia, newly installed to mark the 10th anniversary of the Korea-Australia diplomatic ties, threw various events including a giveaway quiz show. In addition, the photo zone provided visitors with a rare chance to make them feel like a celebrity standing on the red carpet.

The Korean Drama Series Booth displayed the highlights of the most popular top threes (Mary Stayed Out All Night, Secret Garden and All That Glitters, Sparkling).
<Visual radio shows from BBS, CBS and WBS>
The visual radio shows were carried out from BBS, CBS and WBS for three days from September 2 to 4. In addition, Hwan Hee, No Brain, Boo Hwal and Dalshaebet were invited to show exciting performances with the latest drama theme songs, as well as the old nostalgic songs.
