Lee Hi Ranks Number 1 with 'Rose' on Gaon Chart

Lee Hi’s new song Rose ranked number one on Gaon weekly music chart just three days after its release.
Rose climbed the ranks to stand on top on digital ranking of Gaon Chart, a national record chart. The ranking was a comprehensive result starting from March 24 to 30. It beat Busker Busker’s Cherry Blossom Ending, which ranked just below Lee Hi’s Rose.
It is especially meaningful since Rose was only released on March 28 and still ranked number one in just three day of its release.
Rose became the top immediately after it was unveiled on real time music websites. It maintained its rank for five days, after garnering much enthusiasm from the public. The song was a fruit borne by YG’s top producer Teddy and 1Tym’s Song Baek-kyong. A song of R&B House, it was co-composed by the two artists, while Teddy wrote the lyrics.
Lee Hi is going to reveal her new song Rose for the first time on Mnet’s M Countdown today (April 4). YG Entertainment commented, “we got rid of dances as much as we can so Hi can fully express her feelings with her powerful voice through the microphone.” The song is expected to maximize Lee Hi’s strength, which is her mid-low toned soulful voice that is more than fully equipped to convey complex emotions and feelings of the song.
