The best way to flatter to someone must be drinking makgeoli (Korean rice wine) together.
In an event for the movie The King of Flattery (literal title) which was held at a hall in Yeonsei University, actor Song Se Byuk recommended drinking makgeoli together as one of the best way to flatter someone.
When asked what he suggested the best way to flatter, Song replied “Drinking makgeoli.”
The actor gave a whiff of his secret of flattering. “I’m not a very social person. I’m rather introverted. I’m not the kind of person who’s good at flattering, so the only way that I can do that is to have a drink together. Having drunk allows me to relax and flatter senior actors.”
He added, “Makgeoli gives less hangover the next day.”
The rice wine lover also revealed that it was makgeoli that allowed him to make friends with Seong Dong il.
“I thought Song was going to be a really strict person. However, when the shooting started and we had a chance to have a drink, we hit if off out of the bat.”
The movie is to be out in cinemas on June 21.
