As more people begin to learn that Ryu’s wife has filed for divorce, the actor is likely to make an official announcement about the issue in public.

On May 2, a representative of his agency, R’s Company, said in an interview with Starnews, “At the press conference of Channel A’s drama series Goodbye Dear Wife tomorrow (May 3), he will clarify his position regarding the issue (of divorce).”

His wife, Cho, petitioned for divorce at a court earlier in February, and the news broke out next month, giving a shock to people. The couple got married in October in 2010 and gave a birth to a daughter this year. Because Ryu Siwon has been building his reputation as a gentle, mild-mannered Hallyu Star, he does not seem to be getting away with it without getting a huge damage in his career.
