SNSD’s Sunny becomes popular in Daebu Island with her real name “Soon Kyu”

SNSD’s Sunny has fixed her character as “Soon Kyu for all Koreans.”

In the episode of Invincible Youth 2 which will broadcast on February 4 at 11:15 p.m., G8 visits some old women living at Daebu Island to spend some time with them as their granddaughters. SNSD’s Sunny is paired up with Sistar’s Bora and they visit an old woman who is in poor health. They clean a bucket of flatfish and cook some seaweed soup to have a meal together. They will be featured spending a warm, meaningful day together.

When the three of them meet for the first time, Sunny and Bora introduce themselves saying that they have come to be the old lady’s granddaughters of a day. Bora turns out to have the same name as the old woman’s granddaughter, finding some strange connection between them. Sunny, on the other hand, tells her, “Pick an easy name for you to call me between Sunny and Soon Kyu.” The moment she finishes her sentence, the old woman replies, “Soon Kyu,” and Sunny coolly says, “Well, I’m Soon Kyu, all right.”

The old people on the island showed their affection for Sunny’s real name, “Soon Kyu,” throughout the shooting of Invincible Youth 2. When they gathered at the “idol” village first for the opening ceremony, they kept calling out “Soon Kyu,” saying that they preferred Soon Kyu over Sunny. Also, other villagers on the island recognized Sunny at first sight over all the other members of G8, saying, “Oh, you’re Soon Kyu.” As a result, Sunny became very popular with the title “Soon Kyu for all Koreans” in Daebu Island.

The episode which features Sunny, Soon Kyu for all Koreans, and other G8 members working hard for old ladies in Daebu island, as well as who has been honored as the worst member in history will be aired on February 4 at 11:15 p.m. on KBS 2’s Invincible Youth 2.
