Gunwoo of My Name celebrates birthday with fans

Only three months after My Name’s official debut, the group has already imprinted their name in the hearts of many fans. As a token of appreciation, the group decided to celebrate Gunwoo’s birthday with their fans. My Name held a fan meeting and leader Gunwoo’s 24th (Korean age) birthday celebration at Doulos Small Theater last January 28^th.

Birthday Boy Message

Being the birthday boy, Gunwoo was given a special spotlight in the event.  He delivered a message with a matching dramatic background music while Seyong was interpreting it with his own-made sign language. Here’s a summary of his message:Thank you for coming to our fan meeting and my 24^th birthday celebration. This is my first time to celebrate my birthday in front of many people so I feel  nervous and excited. Whether it rains or snow, cold or hot, My Name will try to be there for you. Before we sleep, we always check your posts. These things always make us happy. Even if we are still a nobody in this business, we feel really blessed to have all your supports. I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of you.

The small gathering was installed with many surprises. Apparently, the usual sporty and cool image of Seyong is not everything. He hosted the event, calling himself MC Yong, so fans were able to see his comical side. There were also games played during the event with some lucky fans.  If Chaejin gave a piggyback ride to a fan, JunQ did the opposite. The fan carried him. Insoo on the other hand removed his leather jacket before dancing Message, flaunting his muscular physique. Fans never stopped screaming and it even got louder when Seyong also showed a glimpse of his abs. There was also a fan signing right after the group’s last performance.
