The Maritime Police calls JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun in as a witness

JYJ’s Park Yoo Chun was recently called in as a character witness by the Maritime Police for violating the Ships Safety Act.

On January 26, a spokesperson for the Southern Sea Maritime Police said, “Park was not criminally booked. We just called him in as a character witness because we were investigating a yacht managing company, which also takes care of Park’s yacht too.”

On the same day, YTN reported on Park saying he was booked on a charge of violating the Ships Safety Act. because he didn’t take his yacht in for a safety check.

A spokesperson for Park’s agency said, “We are ascertaining whether it is true. We will tell you the truth as soon as we find out.”

Article 89 of the Ships Safety Act imposes a correctional fine, just under2 million won on any person who doesn’t participate in a safety check for ships without a justified reason.
