Is 2NE1’s music video anti-Japanese? “It’s ridiculous”

2NE1’s music video is caught up in a controversy in Japan.
On a Japanese online community website on the 28th, postings which claim that 2NE1’s music video of the song “Hate You” is depreciating Fukushima nuclear accident were uploaded.
The “Hate You” music video is animated and members of 2NE1 appear as cartoon characters, fighting off a villain. The controversy began when some netizens said the villain represents Japan.
They claimed that the red dot on the villain’s forehead symbolizes Japan, and the explosion of chimney at the beginning of the music video refers to the nuclear accident at Fukushima.
A Japanese media reported, “If more Japanese people see the music video that way, 2NE1’s activities in Japan could be restricted. I hope the agency would make music videos after a more thoughtful consideration.”
Hearing this, Korean netizens comment: “It’s a ridiculous.” “What they have said is nonsense. I mean, come on, who would think it that way?” “I don’t understand why 2NE1 has to be caught up in a controversy over such an issue.”
