Big Bang is selected as the final nominee for MTV EMA’s Worldwide Act Category

Many people are wondering whether or not idol group Big Bang will receive the Worldwide Act Prize at the ’2011 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA)’.
On the 24th, Big Bang was selected as the final nominee, and will represent the Asia Pacific region in the race for the first-ever Worldwide Act EMA. Abdelfattah Grini represents Africa, India, and Middle East, Lena represents Europe, Restart represents Latin America, and Britney Spears represents North America.
MTV EMA made the Worldwide Act Prize this year to introduce a variety of songs from all around the world. Big Bang is drawing a lot of attention after the group was announced as the final nominee.
MTV EMA introduced Big Bang on their website.
EMA said, “The South Korean boy band beat out Agnes Monica, Exile, Gotye, Jane Zhang, Jay Chou, and Sia for the honour of being the first act to represent Asia Pacific in the race for the new Worldwide Act EMA. Big Bang makes a splash, with their catchy hip-hop/dance pop and their suave fashion style—and after attaining megastardom in their home country, they’re starting to gain recognition internationally.”
EMA also focused on Big Bang’s numerous prizes.
They said, “Big Bang topped the charts in 2007 with their single “Lies” in Korea and won the Seoul Music Award for Artist of the Year that year. They also went on to amass fans in Japan and win awards there. They scored Best Pop Video and Best New Artist trophies at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2010.”
People can vote for Worldwide Act and the other open MTV EMA categories through November 4. The winners will be announced on the 6th at the ’2011 MTV EMA in Belfast’, airing on MTV at 9:00 p.m. in the United Kingdom.
