YG to collaborate with other companies for a new audition show

Following news that YG Entertainment will be debuting a new boy group later this year via a new survival program, new reports have come out stating that YG are planning more survival shows.

According to a new report from Isplus, YG will be launching a brand new male trainee survival program that will take on a “Produce 101” format. The show will be overseen by “Produce 101” and “Show Me The Money” producer Han Dong Chul, and it is reported that YG will be collaborating with other companies and their rookies for this new show.

This new survival program is completely separate to YG’s recently-announced boy group competition show, and is scheduled to air towards the latter half of 2017. Not only will YG CEO Yang Hyun Suk be personally involved, but Teddy Park, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and PSY will all appear on this new survival show as judges.

In addition to this new survival show and its boy group competition show, YG have also stated that reality shows for Black Pink, iKON, and WINNER are also planned, though no details have been revealed just yet.

G-Dragon Continues Reign Over Billboard’s World Albums Chart

NCT 127 and PENTAGON’s new mini albums have both entered Billboard’s World Albums chart, while G-Dragon continues to rule at No. 1!

On June 20, Billboard revealed their weekly charts for the week ending in July 1. After making its debut on the World Albums chart at No. 1 last week, G-Dragon’s “Kwon Ji Yong” maintains its top spot this week. It also comes in at No. 7 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, after entering at No. 1 last week.

NCT 127’s third mini album “NCT #127 CHERRY BOMB” has grabbed the No. 2 spot this week on the World Albums chart! It also takes the No. 3 spot on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and the No. 21 spot on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

After making its debut last week at No. 6 on the chart, DAY6’s full album “Sunrise” is still holding a top spot on the World Albums chart as it comes in at No. 10.

SEVENTEEN’s “Al1” grabs the No. 12 spot, maintaining a place in the top 15 for the fourth week in a row. They are also No. 16 on Billboard’s Social 50 chart.

BTS’s “You Never Walk Alone” is spending its fourteenth week on the chart, coming in at No. 13 this week. The group is also No. 1 once again on the Social 50 chart, meaning they have now surpassed Taylor Swift to take second place for the most weeks at No. 1 on the chart.

PENTAGON’s new mini album “Ceremony” has also taken a spot in the top 15 of the World Albums chart, coming in at No. 14.

Nam Tae Hyun Releases Cover Of G-Dragon’s “Untitled, 2014” With His Band South Club

Last month, Nam Tae Hyun returned to the music scene after leaving WINNER with a music video for his new band’s pre-release track “Hug Me.”

While fans will have to wait a little bit longer for South Club’s first album, the band unexpectedly released a cover of G-Dragon’s “Untitled, 2014” last night. “Untitled, 2014” is the title track of G-Dragon’s latest album “Kwon Ji Yong.” Listen to the band’s cover of G-Dragon’s song below!

Meanwhile, Nam Tae Hyun and South Club’s first album is slated to be released this month. Nam Tae Hyun has received support from close friends like Sulli and from YG founder Yang Hyun Suk for his new start with South Club.

Trainee Involved In T.O.P’s Marijuana Case Might Receive New Sentence

Note: This does not necessarily mean anything for T.O.P as he has a separate trial with seperate charges, we thought it was important that any factual news pertaining to his trail/information be updated and posted.

On June 21, YTN released an exclusive report revealing that the prosecution has appealed the sentence Han Seo Hee received in her first trial for drug-related charges.

Han Seo Hee is the singer trainee who was previously revealed to have smoked marijuana with BIG BANG’s T.O.P. She was also charged with smoking marijuana with T.O.P as his home four times and for purchasing marijuana and LSD while being investigated.

On June 16, Han Seo Hee was sentenced to four years of probation with the possibility of a three-year prison sentence if she commits a repeat offense during her probation period. The Seoul Central District Court also ordered 120 hours of drug rehab and a fee of 870,000 won (approximately $770).

The report states that the prosecution submitted the appeal on June 20 and due to the objection a second trial is likely to occur.

Meanwhile, the first trial for T.O.P and his marijuana charges will take place on June 29.
